• Christine Wardle - Managing Director

    Christine Wardle established Blue Environment in 2006 to build on over 30 years professional experience across the environment, eco-tourism, water, finance and accounting sectors. She has a range of environmental and business qualifications including an honours degree in Environmental Engineering (RMIT) and a Masters in Environmental Management (UNSW). Christine has worked for a number of multinational engineering consultancies, major banks, brokers and commercial organisations in Australia and the UK. Christine is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has corporate governance experience on the boards of organisations such as City West Water Ltd and Phillip Island Nature Park. Christine is the past Victorian President of the Waste Management Association of Australia and was the winner of the national 2014 WMAA John Guice Award, recognising her significant contribution to the waste management and resource recovery sector in Australia.
  • Joe Pickin - Director

    Dr Joe Pickin is a waste and resource efficiency specialist with a 20-year track record as a consultant, researcher, policy analyst, strategist and auditor.  He has a PhD from the University of Melbourne on the environmental economics of waste and has worked in government, community, academic and private sectors.  Joe has high level writing ability, excellent presentation and communication skills, and a flair for data analysis and modelling.  He has a particular interest in greenhouse gas emissions from the waste sector, and is the current Chair of the National Carbon Division of the Waste Management Association of Australia.  He works extensively for Australian governments at all levels, provides analytical support to various waste companies, and sometimes acts as expert witness in legal proceedings.
  • Bill Grant - Director

    Bill Grant has worked in the environmental and waste management field for over 20 years. With a background in agricultural and environmental science, Bill has multi-disciplinary and applied knowledge of ecology, economics, business management, sociology, town planning, communications, conflict resolution and systems thinking. Bill has extensive experience on projects ranging from waste audits and small business waste management plans through to detailed strategic analysis and planning, greenhouse risk assessment and environmental management systems development.

    Luke is a Senior Environmental Scientist with 10 years experience working across a range of sectors including the Australian Government and consultancies in the UK and Australia. His areas of expertise include environmental analysis, modelling, quantitative research and analysis, waste and resource management, sustainable procurement and supply chains.
  • Lise Ramsden

    Lise is an Environmental Scientist with over 7 years experience in environmental geographical information systems (GIS) and the waste sector, including expertise in database management, data collection and analysis, research and auditing.
  • Jenny Trinh

    Jenny has an honours degree in Environmental Engineering and experience in the groundwater, soil science, waste management and resource recovery sectors.  Her expertise includes environmental research, data analysis and modelling.

    Carmen is an administration and communications specialist with over 20 years experience in marketing, office management and customer service. Her practice has bridged a range of industries, with expertise in community engagement, market growth, change implementation, team leading and bespoke administrative systems.
